This week will be our first hand-in of the semester. Remember to select one of the three PoWs we've tried that you think is your best example for problem solving. Also don't forget to answer four of the six reflection and connection questions.

This week's PoW has us analyzing a marking scheme for a multiple-choice test. Five students wrote the test and all five have made claims as to what mark they received. Only one of them is right. Can you figure out who? Try it out!!
This week's PoW is based on the very popular game of Sudoku. In this variation, you still are required to ensure there are no duplicates of the digits in the rows and columns. What is different though is the small numbers connecting boxes is the sum of the numbers that go in the boxes. Give it a try and good luck!!
We're back!!! Schools in again and that means Problems of the Week have returned. Our first PoW of the year should be one that eases us back into the habit. If you remember the game Tetris (I know I certainly do!) then you'll like this. Using the pentomino tiles given, you have two different shapes to try and create. Give it a shot and have fun!!

What are PoWs?Problems of the Week are puzzles, problems and questions I give out in a 4 week cycle. The first three weeks are new problems for students to try. The fourth week is a chance for reflection and an opportunity for students to choose one of the three PoWs to hand in as a showcase of their problem solving abilities. Hand-in OutlineArchives
